Before you sign up

Do I have to be online when my game is played?

No. Your lineup and tactics are set in advance and the game is played at its scheduled tip-off whether you are watching or not. When you come back, the replay, the play-by-play and the box score are waiting for you.

Will I play against real people or bots?

Both. The game runs clubs that have no manager until someone takes them over.

Can I join in the middle of a season?

Yes. You take over a club that is already in a league.

Is Swish & Dunk really free?

Yes. There is no premium plan, no season pass and nothing to buy: every feature on this page is available to every manager from day one.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Every manager has an invite code, and both of you get a reward.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. On Android you can download the free app from Google Play. On iPhone you play in the browser, with nothing to download, and you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app; the iOS app is coming soon. Your account and your club are the same on every device.

What is Swish & Dunk?

Swish & Dunk is a free online multiplayer basketball manager game that you play in the web browser on phones, tablets and computers or with the Android app. You take over a club, build the roster with collectible player cards, set tactics and training, and climb ten divisions against other managers, with one game a day simulated possession by possession. There is no premium tier and no pay-to-win.

How does a season work?

Clubs play in groups of 16, split into East and West conferences, with a 22-game regular season and one game a day. The top four in each conference make the playoffs: quarterfinals, semifinals and a best-of-three final. The two finalists move up a division, the bottom two move down, and the draft closes the season.

How are games simulated?

Every game is simulated possession by possession: who brings the ball up, which play is run, who takes the shot and whether it goes in depend on around 50 player ratings, fatigue, fouls, tactics, clutch time and momentum. See exactly how the match engine works.

How do I get better players?

Three ways: develop your own with daily training and the right staff, scout the draft for 18- and 19-year-old prospects, and bid on players in the live transfer market shared by every manager.

Is it like other online basketball managers?

If you have played online managers like Hattrick or BuzzerBeater, you will feel at home: you run one club against real managers in a persistent league. Swish & Dunk adds a possession-by-possession replay of every game, a live auction-house transfer market and a draft every season, all free. For a full comparison, read our guide to the best basketball manager games.

Is there a basketball manager game without pay-to-win?

Yes: Swish & Dunk. Card packs are opened only with tokens earned by playing, and tokens cannot be bought with real money, so every manager has the same tools. Results depend on roster building, tactics and training. See how rewards and tokens work.

Which languages is the game available in?

21: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Indonesian, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Dutch, Greek, Serbian and Croatian. You can switch language at any time in Settings.
